How do I manually adapt XML using NativeXML Plugin

We want to move a standalone journal based on OJS2.x to our multi-journal installation (production based on OJS 3.3.0-5). We upgraded the standalone journal from OJS 2.x to 3.3.0-5 just as production. The exported XML cannot be imported into the same OJS version. How do I manually adapt/check the XML- step-by-step effort?
