Hiding editor’s own article including reviewer identities?

If I am the editor of a journal and submit my own paper, is there any way to hide the review process from myself once I assign the paper to a section editor? Particularly as the editor, thanks to SPF-friendly email policies is the sender of each email, this can get awkward.

Or does everyone else out there take the view that the editor-in-chief is above cheating on reviews?

I know that if a section editor submits, they should not see their own submission.

Hi @philipmach,

Editors can access all submissions. The best way to permit an Editor to also serve as an Author in a journal that uses double-blind reviews is to demote that Editor to a Section Editor.
