google scholar stop indexing the papers

Our all journals are facing google scholar indexing problem since the last week of November 2024. All published articles who was showing in google scholar suddenly gone. I checked that in google search console sitemap is working fine with our all journals. We are using OJS 3.3.0.7 and OJS 3.3.0.8. Please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi @seemashukla_09,

Others have reported issues with Google Scholar recently too. Unfortunately, there is little we can do to assist with this on OJS’ end, as this appears to be on Google Scholar’s end
One thing that has been suggested is to contact Google Scholar directly in cases such as these, especially, if you’ve tried troubleshooting using OJS on your own.

Thank you @rcgillis for your clarification.

Dear @soapubs I see, you are facing same problem as i am. I will contact the google scholar team as suggested by the PKP team member and will come back here whenever i will get any response. If you will receive any reply or solution, please let me know.

Sure, I have also sent them an email, and keep my eyes on tracking their reply, but as far as I know, most of publishers using OJS system is facing the similar issue, which was all papers published in 2024 was wipped out

They also said this might be due to the paper content issue? Which I dont think so

Yes. You are right. Maximum ojs journals are facing same problem, and as far as the content of the paper is concerned, I also cannot believe that we are publishing wrong content.

I toatally agree with you, but the tragedy is that GS is not transparent to us, we do not know how to address these issue, and fix problems, I wrote to their email, but have not got their reply for a long time.

I can’t confirm this. All the journals that we host and that are indexed in GS don’t have this issue. Just two journals which don’t have enough publication frequency did not get into GS yet. I’ve just recently added a brand-new journal to Google Search Console, and it was indexed within 10 days in Google Scholar.

Dear @mpbraendle in our case, before June 2024 our all published papers are still available in Google scholar, but after June all published articles are gone. This is really surprising.

is it the publication frequency the factor that affect if the journals can be indexed?

in my knowledge, a very big publisher in my country, also facing same issue like yours, exactly the same timeline

We are facing same issue. Our 3 publisher houses have lost scholar indexing after June 20, 2024. We are totally blank as authors are pushing so hard which pretty natural from their side.

Hello all –

There are a lot of “me too” threads about recent Google Scholar issues, so I’ll direct them into one place and close off the other threads in order to help organize the forum.

I’ll leave this thread open:
