Getting error when using TinyMCE editor

I’m running into an error with the TinyMCE in the forms. When trying to upload images via the TinyMCE editor, I keep getting “Disallowed Key Characters” as an error. Any suggestions?

Hi @tauyeung,

Hmm, I suspect that’s a problem in the JBImages plugin we use to provide that functionality, but I’ve never seen that issue before. Are you using special (non-ASCII) characters somewhere, e.g. in the filename of the image you’re trying to upload?

Please include the application and version number you’re using in your posts.

Hi Alec,

Sorry – OJS 2.4.8. There’s nothing particularly unusual with the filenames (standard characters). Is there a chance it could be related to file system permissions but giving back the wrong error?

Tim

Hi @tauyeung,

I don’t think it’d be file permissions – but in any case, I’d suggest checking the JBImages site, where there are already a few references to this and suggestions: http://justboil.me/

Repeatedly getting this error while uploading image. Kindly help in this regard.
File names are standard characters, type is .png and size <100kb

Hi @hannanhazari,

Can you post this as a new topic? It’s not the same problem as this thread discusses. Also include which of our software packages you’re using, and what version.

I did some more testing – it appears to be a Firefox issue

Hmmm. Strange. A Firefox issue. To me it seems that something is not well configured (in JustBoil).
I have no time for extensive debugging but found this link quite helpful.

I’d rather see that multiple browsers and plugins were tested more thoroughly before integrating the justboil plugin in the tiny mce editor.
