We have been using OCS for the past 3 years without any issues. unfortunately when I tried to access the site this morning I received the following message:
Fatal error : Cannot use ‘String’ as class name as it is reserved in /home/saimm/www/www/ocs/lib/pkp/classes/core/String.inc.php on line 57
Please can you assist

It sounds like the version of PHP on your server was upgraded. I’m not sure what version of OCS you are using, but you will probably need to talk to your server provider and request PHP 5.6 unless you are willing to apply some patches or fix the code at this point.

Thank you for your response, my service provider has changed the PHP version back to 5.6 and all is in order again.
