I need help with this issue. Whenever I access the dashboard I get this error message:
“An unexpected error has occurred. Please reload the page and try again”

We recently experienced something similar … in our case it was because the database was located in a different server and for some reason (we don’t know exactly) the list of active submissions was taking too much time to fill … so that error was indicating a time out. There were no errors reported at the error log but moving the database to the same server where OJS is, solved the problem.
You might check your error.log file nevertheless, to see if you can find any clue about what is causing the error.
Also, report your current database server version, just in case it helps to solve the problem too
