DataCite Automatic DOI Registration in OJS

I am currently testing the integration of the DataCite plugin in our OJS Instance for automatic DOI registration with DataCite. I created an account on the DataCite Test Fabrica and configured the DataCite plugin for export and import by entering this account and setting the prefix and suffix format.

The generation and assignment of DOIs are functioning correctly; however, I am encountering some issues. Specifically, the status of articles and issues remains unchanged through the plugin. Additionally, the scheduled task log file related to DataCite does not indicate any activity, and there are no traces of the allocated DOIs in the DataCite Test Fabrica web interface.

Steps

  1. Go to ’ DataCite Export/Registration Plugin’
  2. Click on ‘Settungs’ , ‘DOI Plugin Settings’ : see screenshots below

  1. When you click on ‘Articles’ or ‘Issues’, the status is still marked as not deposited

OJS Version
OJS 3.3.0.7

Additional information
logs of automatic scheduled DataCite registration, show running everyday at the same time with 3 lines: the domain name of the journal, the second line for beginning of the process and the last for finishing the process

Is there someone familiar with this process.
@alschemer, can you point me in the right direction? so I was wondering if you could redirect me who/where can provide me some insight with automating DOI attribution via the DataCite plugin?

Hey @BessemAamira, happy to try and help. What happens when you manually register the DOIs? Does this work?

Yes @ewhanson , I’ve tested the export function and the DOI registration by uploading a file on the Fabrica test platform, and it worked perfectly.

Finally, the register button appears only with a production account, and maybe this is the same reason why automatic registration doesn’t work: unavailable for test mode.
