crossref xml export throws up errors in validation xml
When I am trying to manually export the articles to give to my doi sponsor organisation, i am getting repeated lines of error saying

Element ‘{http://www.crossref.org/schema/4.3.6}surname’: [facet ‘minLength’] The value has a length of ‘0’; this underruns the allowed minimum length of ‘1’.

Element ‘{http://www.crossref.org/schema/4.3.6}surname’: [facet ‘pattern’] The value ‘’ is not accepted by the pattern ‘[^\d?][^?\s]+[^\d]’.

Element ‘{http://www.crossref.org/schema/4.3.6}surname’: ‘’ is not a valid value of the local atomic type.

This is repeated 5 times I think

  • Steps you took leading up to the issue
tried to export articles for doi

  • What you tried to resolve the issue
nothing, no idea what is wrong

  • Error log messages if applicable

as above

Please help.

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

I think surname field of one of your authors of articles is not filled.

Oh ok, thanks for that. I will have a look.

Yes that was the problem. Solved it by searching for in the generated xml file to check which article had a surname missing. Thanks a lot for your help.
