My OJS website went down and when I asked my hosting company, they said there was malicious files in the installation directory. I found the files and deleted them.
After that, I upgraded the version of the OJS to the latest version 2 days back and it was working today. However, now I am checking the website and it is not opening.
I changed the settings in config.inc.php to
display_errors = On
show_stacktrace = On
deprecation_warnings = On
log_web_service_info = On
Please help it is urgent.

Hi @1amrahulranjan,
I would also recommend double-checking the “Recommended Configuration” section of docs/README.md to make sure your installation is secure. In particular, make sure the files_dir setting in config.inc.php is not web-accessible.

@asmecher @rcgillis I am sorry for the duplicate posting as I am new here and my first two queries were not answered by anyone hence I thought I should post again to get attention. My apologies, this will not be repeated. I will be continuing to reply on this thread.
@asmecher the config.inc.php has all the recommended settings enabled since the installation.
@rcgillis I upgraded from 3.3.0.10 to 3.3.0.13.
The website came to live as soon as I turned off these settings:
display_errors = On
show_stacktrace = On
deprecation_warnings = On
log_web_service_info = On
Now, after it came back online, since then the website is not loading any images. It is just showing the alt texts and I have tried to reupload the images but no success.
Further, when I try to clear the template cache, it throws a Server 500 error. This 500 error comes up everytime I try to clear the cache as well as some settings. After 2-3 refreshes, the page loads but the cache does not get cleared. I checked my errorlog and found this.

@asmecher @rcgillis I am attaching the screenshots for your reference. I have also added a Stylesheet but it is not working. Earlier it used to work. FYI, I am on a shared hosting from hostgator and there are just two websites hosted. 1 is this one and the 2nd one is a dormant Wordpress website.

Can you clarify: what version are you upgrading from to? For example, upgrading from 3.2.1 to 3.3.0-13. Please provide these details (and in the future include them in your posts.

It looks like you’ve directed error messages and warnings to the browser in your PHP configuration. This isn’t recommended and will interfere with OJS. (See: https://www.php.net/manual/en/errorfunc.configuration.php#ini.display-errors)
