Common Login for OJS and OMP

Hello PKP Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m currently exploring the possibility of implementing a common login system for both Open Journal Systems (OJS) and Open Monograph Press (OMP). The goal is to streamline user access and provide a seamless experience across both platforms.

Has anyone in the community attempted to integrate a common login for OJS and OMP? If so, could you please share your experiences, insights, or any recommended approaches? I’m particularly interested in understanding the challenges involved and any best practices that might exist for achieving this.

There are plugins like the Open ID authentication plugin: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/plugin-inventory/en/#openid-authentication

But there are likely others in that list as well.
