Changing themes - easy? when? How?

How easy is it to change Themes?
If I start with the default installation theme, but later want to change (upgrade!) to a fancier theme, how easy is that?
Do they all assume the same underlying database and information, no additional tagging or indexing for some?

Hi @guthrie,

It is quite easy to change themes in the settings in OJS. What you might have to do if you change themes is adjust color schemes, logos, and other basic design features. This guide provides more in-depth information on how to best go about utilizing themes and incorporating good elements of design for your journal: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/designing-your-journal/en/

Themes operate on a similar structure, with some variability depending on the theme. If you want more in-depth information on this, I highly recommend having a look at our theming guide: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/pkp-theming-guide/
