Cannot add section editor in OJS 3.1.1.2

In my OJS 3.1.1.2 installation, I don’t have step 6, so I cannot add a section editor.

First please use official documentation and not unofficial copies: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/

There should be a section with the section editors. Do you have any section editors defined? I guess you have to first assign section ediotr roles to users and then only select them in the section editor.

Ok, thanks for your notice.

I have gone through the official documentation (Journal Settings) and found nothing about how to assign a section editor to a section.

Looking better at the section edit form in my OJS 3.1.1.2 installation, I read this, in the top: “There are no section editors yet. Add this role to at least one user via Management > Settings > Users & Roles first.”, but I have a lot of section editors (some newly created, some other imported from a previous OJS2 version), that work daily with the journal.

I’m using OJS v3.1.2.0 and can observe the same issue described here. My journal has just one Journal Editor and one Section Editor. When I choose to edit a section, I can see the following message on top of the window that opens: “There are no section editors yet. Add this role to at least one user via Management > Settings > Users & Roles first.” This is despite the Section Editor being checked at the bottom of that window.

Another related issue I’m facing is that the Section Editor is not automatically being assigned the Section Editor role on new submissions despite being the only Section Editor for that section type. Any suggestions?
