Automated Review Reminders Sent to Completed Reviewers (Multiple Reviewers Assigned)

Hello everyone,

We are experiencing a persistent issue with our automated review reminders, and I’m hoping someone can offer a configuration fix or confirm this is a known bug in our version.

The Problem

We are running into a confusing scenario where reviewers who have already submitted their review are still receiving the “A review is overdue” automatic reminder email.

This happens specifically in submissions with multiple reviewers assigned (e.g., three reviewers).

The Specific Scenario

  1. Submission: One article is assigned to 3 reviewers.

  2. Status: Reviewer 1 and Reviewer 2 submit their reviews on time.

  3. The Trigger: Reviewer 3 misses their deadline, and their assignment goes into an “Overdue” status.

  4. The Bug: When the scheduled automated reminder runs, it sends the “A review is overdue” email to all three reviewers, including Reviewer 1 and Reviewer 2, even though they have completed their work.

This is causing confusion and unnecessary correspondence with our reviewers.

This problem started after we updated to the OJS to version **3.5.0.1 **
