Announcements not displaying using the Health Science theme: any reason

Hello, I am testing the Health Science theme but the announcements do not seem to display, like the do instead using the default theme.
All is configured EXACTLY as in the default theme…
Is there a reason for this and does it mean that the HST cannot feature announements?

Hi @lsteele

For the Classic and Health Sciences themes the initial design hadn’t included showing announcements on the home page, but we now reconsidering this and most probably this option will appear in one of the future releases.

I shall look out for the update, as I think announcements are attractive and useful in a journal. Otherwise, the HS theme is very nice.

Hello! I am testing the HS theme as well, and wondering if the theme has been updated to show the first announcement on the landing page.

Hi @albah,

There is correspondent commit on the master branch but as I see from the code it requires some tweaks. I’ve opened an issue.
