I have installed Lagotto in my server and the ALM plugin in OJS 2.4.7.1. It seems Lagotto is working, for example I can see the metrics of Facebook.
Do you know how can I connect the ALM plugin to my Lagotto? It seems I have to replace some code in the file AlmPlugin.inc.php to add the ALM_API_URL of my site DEFINE(‘ALM_API_URL’, ‘http://mysite.com/api/v3/articles/’); is this right?
In my site I can see the following metrics
But I have seen in other journals a table with detail information, like this example. Do yo know if this is a different plugin or I have to setup something? I don’t how to get this view.
Another example
Thanks in advance for your help
That visual display is a different plugin than the one provided by PKP. You’re right that you need to change the ALM_API_URL to point to your own instance of Lagotto.
PKP is planning on re-launching our ALM service over the summer, and will be ready to new users after that time.
We are considering at the University Of Bordeaux displaying some metrics.
We found this post interesting.
I would have some questions to ask you.
You said: “PKP is planning on re-launching our ALM service over the summer, and will be ready to new users after that time.”
What does it mean exactly “re-launching” ? Is this still planned for this summer ?
You also said: “and will be ready to new users after that time.”
What will be the condition to use the plugin again ? Does it mean the ALM server will accept more institutions
and it will be possible to run “Alternative metrics” without building its own Lagotto server like alejandrodf did ?
alejandrodf also said he changed some code in the ALM plugin to adapt it to the look and feel of other journals to have more that HTML and PDF views but also detail information of external sources : citations of crossref, scopus, google scholar and discussion on social networks…
Do you also plan to change ALM plugin to have more that HTML and PDF views ?
We are still hoping to relaunch the service before the end of the summer. This will mean we’ll be running a version of the Lagotto application, and will slowly start including new publishers upon request. The plugin will remain largely unchanged, although there is now a second plugin, developed at the last PKP Sprint, that uses a different charting library for a different look and feel.
Sorry to not have more precise information. We’re working with our partners to provide this service, as it falls outside PKP’s traditional area of expertise. Thank you for your patience.
