Add short summary to articles on journal homepage

Describe the issue or problem
We are looking for a way to add a sentence or two below each article on our homepage with a brief summary of each article. The subtitle field would be great for this, but we worry that it will affect an article’s metadata. Is there any alternate way to do this in OJS? We are currently on version 3.1.2.1 but will hopefully be upgrading to 3.5 ASAP. Thank you.

Hi @RWA,

We are currently working on adding a “plain language summary” field that’ll go alongside the abstract most places that it appears. It’ll be optional and sounds like it suits the requirement. There are details here:

We’re not planning on adding to this until 3.6, but it might be possible for you to back-port the changes if it’s crucial.
