Adapt theme to all display settings

I’m looking for ways to adapt my web page based on OJS to be displayed correctly for all screen resolutions.

You know if there is any plugin or some code to add to theme, that is correctly displayed wide web type display configurations?

hello? Can somebody help me? thanks!

Hi @gardbeat,

Please be patient – we’ll generally respond to a post within a day or two.

You’re looking for a responsive design for OJS. There are a few discussions and some code for this:
https://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9464
https://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13067

The best work I’m aware of has been done by this user:

Note that OJS 3.0, when it’s released next year, will be light-years ahead of what’s available for OJS 2.x.

@asmecher well… what does “next year” exactly mean :stuck_out_tongue: ? because if you are releasing it by January I could wait because I am not in a hurry, otherwise will have to work with v2

Hi @annlee,

We haven’t formally announced a launch date yet. Our next release will be OMP 1.2, then we’ll focus on OJS 3.0 – so it certainly won’t be January, but I hope it won’t be late in the year. If you’re planning a new journal with a launch date in the second half of the year, especially if you have any development or customization in mind, I would suggest looking at OJS 3.0. If you don’t have technical resources on hand, it might be a better idea to stick with OJS 2.x until 3.0 is released.

thanks @asmecher it is certainly cool that spanish journal responsive template

Hi, sorry to be heavy. But you indicate me not worth me to adapt my website under OJS 2.4.7-1 for all screen resolutions.

My question is if you can recommend me a code to add to the theme and it suits any resolution.

Very friendly, as always.

Hi @gardbeat,

It depends on your timelines and skill level. The responsive design for OJS 2 is already available at the link above; the OJS 3.0 codebase is still under active development but is already quite stable, if you don’t mind working with git and expecting some bugs until 3.0 is finalized. Or, if you’re not comfortable working with the 3rd-party responsive design, there’s always stock OJS 2.x. Which you choose is up to you.

Please send me show me the code used to OJS 2.4.7-1, among which is not my native language I get lost among so many links.

Please resumememe what I should do.

Very grateful as always.
