Hello,
I am encountering an intermittent issue with PDF.js v2.6.347 in OJS version [3.3.0.15]. Occasionally, instead of displaying the PDF file at this address: https://revista.adp.edu.pe/index.php/RPI/issue/view/rv_135_2024/55 , the following error message is shown:
DF.js v2.6.347 (build: 3be9c65f)
Message: Unexpected server response (500) while retrieving PDF “https://revista.adp.edu.pe/index.php/RPI/issue/download/rv_135_2024/55 ”.
Could you please advise on what might be causing this issue?
Thank you.

Others have reported this issue as well. It is often tied to file permissions. Please see here:
Hello PKP community
I’m facing a problem with my journal RTBC, all PDFs are missing , the OJS 3.3.0.7 version is used. I didn’t do any upgrade, the site is new.
By clicking on more information I got this message:
PDF.js v2.6.347 (identifiant de compilation : 3be9c65f) Message : Missing PDF “https://rtbc.org.tn/ojs/index.php/rtbc/article/download/267/268/998 ”
Any help is welcome.

Yousr

I think that in my case the problem is different because when the error message appears, I can open the same URL in a tab with incognito mode and the problem is resolved. So I was wondering if OJS does have any log file I can check.
Hi @virtual-orbis ,
Yes - you can check your PHP error log for messages that might provide more clues about the issue. See this post here:
If you see a blank page, or start an operation that appears to never complete, or receive a 500 error code, it’s likely that you have encountered a PHP error. In order to find out the cause, you’ll need to check your PHP error log for details.
Where you’ll find your PHP error log will depend on your server’s setup. In most shared hosts, there is a directory called logs or something similar. If your server uses CPanel, you may have an entry there called “Errors”. You may also be able to check yo…

maybe your php version not support or file missing.
have you tried clearing your data cache?
Something I have done is suggesting to download the PDF file when the problem appears
