Describe the problem you would like to solve
I got a concerned email from a journal manager regarding the notification settings (and defaults). a screenshot of these settings for a freshly created account below (ojs 3.4.0.5, the user did not have any roles assigned, but looks the same after assigning “Reader”).
As you notice - it looks as if these users are by default subscribed to submissions and editorial mails. There also was a small irritation what the string "Title"
refers to.
Describe the solution you’d like
I think it would make sense to hide the settings not applicable to the user. Or at least a clear indication whether the user can or will receive emails on these events.
On the defaults, we would prefer to have the option to set the default for mails to opt-in. (It would also be nice to bulk opt-out existing accounts.)
