Seeking a new chair for the Documentation Interest Group

PKP is seeking a new volunteer Chair for its Documentation Interest Group (DIG), a community-led PKP working group that manages, creates, and improves documentation about PKP software and publishing best practices. This is a great opportunity for a community member to get more involved with PKP, network with PKP partners and other organizations, and advance documentation and support resources.

The DIG is one of PKP’s most active and productive groups. Since its conception in 2017, it has created or updated the majority of the documentation in PKP’s Documentation Hub. The DIG meets monthly to strategize about documentation and bi-weekly to work on documentation at virtual sprints (work parties). DIG members also participate in-person at PKP sprints when possible, when they occur. See the DIG’s Terms of Reference for more information about the Group: .

The DIG Chair is responsible for leading the Group, coordinating and facilitating sprints and meetings, recruiting and supporting DIG members, and reporting on the Group’s activities. The Chair is a PKP community member, not a staff member, but they work with a PKP Liaison staff member to ensure that the DIG carries out its responsibilities and has necessary resources.

For this role, we are seeking someone with interest and experience in software documentation, knowledge of PKP software, fluency in English, and strong organizational and communication skills. This work can be considered part of a partner or member’s contribution to PKP.

If you are interested in this role or have questions, please contact Amanda Stevens, PKP Liaison to the DIG and PKP’s Associate Director of Publishing Services and Support, at astevens@publicknowledgeproject.org.
