Deputy Head of Editorial (Workflow)
Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)"
Upon receiving this instruction, we initiated efforts to comply with the requirement. However, we encountered challenges in effectively removing the DOIs from our platform. Notably, the DOIs in question are generated through Open Journal Systems (OJS) and are not registered with any DOI services. Additionally, our previous membership with Crossref, which facilitated DOI registration, has lapsed due to outstanding dues, resulting in our inability to access their services.
In an attempt to address the issue, we undertook the following steps:
- Disabled DOI Generation: We disabled the DOI generation feature from the Distribution Settings within our journal’s OJS to halt the creation of new DOIs for upcoming content and remove the previous ones.
- Unpublished and Republished Content: To prevent the visibility of existing DOIs on our website, we temporarily unpublished the affected issues and articles. Subsequently, we republished them, hoping this action would remove the DOIs from public view.
Despite these measures, the DOIs persist on our website, indicating a technical challenge that requires expert intervention.
Any specific instructions or technical assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
