Preview the journal before final schedule

1- We want to preview our journal which contains all the submitted papers
before the real publication.
Can we do it? how?
2- We want to publish all papers in pdf while your system says all the
submitted papers must be in word or RTF. Does it make any problem if we submit the paper in pdf format?

3-How does the system produce the megatdata?
4-Does the system extract references for each paper? If not, what should we do?

Hi @aram_mohammed,

Could you please confirm which version of OJS you are using?

Hi Patricia,
We are currently using OJS 3.1.1.4.

Any help will appreciated.

Dear Patrica,

We are currently using OJS 3.1.1.4.

I think you understood my question.

Any help will appreciated.

We are using 3.1.2.1 and the preview option shows when using Chrome, but not in Firefox.

Hello @aram_mohammed,

  1. To preview the journal you’ll need to go to Issue > Future Issue > click the arrow to display all the options

image

  1. Submissions must be made in word or RTF a PDF can be uploaded in the galley panel of the production tab

  1. Could you clarify what you’re looking in terms of metadata? Are you looking to export the metadata entered by the author to a database?

  2. This is not automatically done. There are plugins available through the plugin gallery such as ‘Citation Style Language’ that will allow readers to get a published article’s citation in one of several formats supported by the Citation Style Language.

Patricia, with the new version 3…1.2.1, the arrow to the left of the new future issue does not open to display the options. Is there a bug in this new version?

Hi Patricia,

Thank you very much indeed for your help.

There are three more questions

1- We want to see the keywords underneath of the abstract.

As you can see from picture one, Keywords come above the abstract

2- We want to show references for each paper underneath of the abstract as it shows in the attached picture.

3- what is the benefit of putting pdf in galley?

Hello @aram_mohammed,

The layout of the article and reference will dependent on the theme you choose. Changing this within the theme you’ve chosen will require customization, please see Abstract layout OJS 3.1.0-1 Manuscript theme - #7 by czirfusz for how this may be done.

Publishing a PDF in the galley is a matter of journal preference but is commonly done within publishing. It offers different reading formats for your readers.
