I have a journal that publishes all articles as PDF galleys, but the journal is also in PubMed Central. I therefore have all articles as JATS XML and I’m wondering if there are any advantages to including the XML as galleys in addition to PDF (adding the XML and using the eLife lens OR linking as an external galley to the PMC posted version). The main disadvantage for my workflow is that the articles are published as PDFs on OJS before I have the XML files, which are created by a third party vendor—so I would have to unpublish each article and attached the additional galley. Any thoughts would be great!
