Plugin or option to download the reviewer answer/form

Describe the problem you would like to solve

Our editors need a way to download the report a reviewer gave as, as we only can read it at the moment in the platform. However, we need it as a PDF or excel, even word, to be able to send it to the reviewer with a thank you letter and certificate for their help. This is also useful to the reviewer as he can be certain that his/her opinion has not been modified.

Describe the solution you’d like
A simple button beside the Read the review button, or an option to download the 2 or 3 reviews on an excel file.

Who is asking for this feature?
This is a feature that will be useful for our Journal Editors and Reviewers.

Additional information
I’ve seen in the forum four or five participants asking for a way to download or print the reviews.

Hi @LetyBA

At the moment I don’t know of a plugin that downloads the Review Form responses, it would be a great thing for many Editors.

For the moment I can suggest you the following:

  1. Accept Submission
  2. Import all the responses from the Review Form, this will import the one from all the reviewers.
  3. You will see that in the body of the email, there are now the reviewers’ responses.
  4. Finally, select to which reviewers you will send a copy of this email, containing the Review Form responses. As you can see in the image, the identity of the author will be revealed.

I think this would be a good way to make the review process transparent to all the stakeholders of the manuscript, and in addition, everyone will have a copy in their email.

I hope this information helps you.

Appreciate your kind response. It is a possibility, however, this is only if the article is accepted, but if not, I couldn’t take this steps. We need the reviewer report as well to include it in the thank you letter, regardless of the result of the process.

Thank you for your time

Exactly what I’m looking for (and hopefully many more). Is this in process? or just in theory phase.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi @LetyBA,

I see the question is already on the github discussion – I’ll close this thread in favour of that.
