[OMP] Notification "A new monograph has been published"

Dear Alec,

in OMP I would like to offer a RSS feed that also notify readers of a new monograph, as it already happens for OJS with a new issue. Could this be available?

Hi @angelo_ventriglia,

In OJS, that’s part of the “web feed” plugin. That plugin hasn’t been ported to OMP yet, and to be honest it’s less of a priority for OMP because the frequency of publication for a monograph press is typically less than that of a journal. However, I’ve filed it as a feature request here:

Could I ask you what will happen If I subscribe “to be notified when new content is added to the press” in the page /notification/subscribeMailList?

Hi @angelo_ventriglia,

I believe that’s a semi-functional left-over from OMP’s heritage in the OJS codebase. I wouldn’t suggest relying on it for notifying users of new content. We’ll be working on this kind of functionality over the next couple of releases, starting with the bug entry linked above.
