OMP - Downloading Issues at PKP Website

Hallo everyone =)

I am experiencing problems in downloading the OMP installing files (https://pkp.sfu.ca/omp/omp_download/).

This is what happens when I click on the current production release download file, as well as the previous releases:

• the download starts;
• it keeps going, downloading more than 100MB (while the .tar file it’s only 46MB);
• then, it stops, without download.

I have repeated this operation with 3 different devices, and with other browses, with no success.

Moreover, I alsotryed to download OJS, thinking about some local connection issues, but I downloaded it with any problems.

Am I the only one with that problem? =(

I’m not from pkp, so I can’t help you, but I just tried to download the file and it works without problem to me.
May I suggest to try it from any other browser or computer?

If you want I can send it to you via wetransfer (send me a DM with your email address, if you want), but it’s an odd issue.

I already tryed to download the installing file from other devices (2 different computers), but it didn’t work.

I can’t figure why…

Hi @MChiara,

I was able to download this without any problem. I think the number on there that has 46 MB is not accurate though. Maybe you have a download cap for over 100 MB that is somehow configurable? Not sure what the issue is on your end, but a possible workaround to try, if you familiar with the terminal is to use the wget command followed by the URL of the tar.gz file to grab it that way.

I still don’t have a clue why I am not able to normally download those files, but…
