a feature to login using either using email or username as identifier is required
users usually forget their username and it will be easy to login using the email address

This has been discussed as a potential feature, albeit in a different form here: The username must contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens/underscores. · Issue #906 · pkp/pkp-lib · GitHub - it is possible that PKP may explore it in the future, but it is not certain when this will be added.
