IJIFM Impact Factors and Metrics - Affiliated with PKP?

Hey everyone,

today, I received an email from indexedjournals.info with the following offer:

We want to inform you that your journal has been indexed in our indexing database Indexed Journals Impact Factor and Metrics (IJIFM) and we invite you to request your indexation and impact factor report. Keep in mind that we offer a detailed report on the evolution of the impact factor and the h-index. You can publish this report in your journal to show its quality.
Indexed Journals Impact Factor and Metrics (IJIFM) is an indexing and Abstracting database based in the PKP project.

On the website I found the info that the service is 30 USD. The email was marked as SPAM, the website has no SSL … this all looks fishy. I have no interest in using the service, but I am curious to know if there is indeed an affiliation with PKP as stated in the email.

Hello @kganz,

This platform does appear to be making use of the PKP software - Open Harvester Systems, which is free an open source, like PKP’s other software but there is no affiliation with PKP. A list of strategic/development partners can be found on PKP website: https://pkp.sfu.ca/development-partners/ / https://pkp.sfu.ca/strategic-partners/ - where we tend to list groups that are formally affiliated with PKP.

Best regards,

No impressum is given on http://impactfactor.indexedjournals.info, no reference to any paper that describes their method. So what would the value and comparability of their so-called journal “Impact Factor” be, given their rather small journal and article base?

WHOIS indicates their website as a GoDaddy site, so no indication who really is the owner. Whois indexedjournals.info
