Every time we’ve got this error in our installation it’s been related to spanish characters in our database (but our installation has been upgraded from version 2)…
Have you enabled other languages aside of english?
Are your articles, user names, etc in a language other than english?
Just adding this as the PHP error logs you posted don’t point to any other cause, as happened with our logs…
