Describe the problem you would like to solve
Currently, the activity log of a submission is not accessible for authors. Without access to the activity log, the submitting author has to rely on their email inbox outside of OJS to review which emails they received regarding a specific submission.
Specific case: An author comes back to their account after a longer pause and has a look into their previously rejected submissions. They cannot re-construct why their submissions had been rejected with the information OJS provides. It would be helpful for them to have access to emails regarding this submission, which were addressed to them as author. At least the decision emails from a status change should be available to them.
Describe the solution you’d like
Archive decision emails at a submission in a way the submitting author can access them in his OJS account.
Giving access to the activity log would be a straight forward way, but this might disclose more information than journal editors are comfortable sharing with an author. Maybe a ‘filtered’ activity log that only includes notifications that address the author?
