OJS, OMP, and OPS 3.5.0rc2 Released

PKP is pleased to announce the release of OJS, OMP, and OPS 3.5.0rc2 (Release Candidate 2):

These are for testing purposes only, not production use. If you are running an upgrade of your existing system, please make a complete backup first, and do not deploy 3.5.0 RC2 in production. We cannot guarantee that it will be possible to smoothly upgrade from 3.5.0 RC2 to 3.5.0.

All are welcome to join in the testing process and help ensure that the final release of 3.5.0 is as reliable as possible!

If you find problems you would like to report, create a new issue in Github with all the details.

We will maintain a list of commonly encountered issues here, so please check this list before you file a new issue.

Thanks,
Alec Smecher

There are two areas in which there are known bugs that have been fixed. There is no need to log issues for these areas:

  1. Existing Site-wide context Admin > Hosted Sites > Settings wizard/User flows.
  2. (New) feature for Journal context settings > Users and Roles > Invite to a role

Docker image for new OJS avaliable at dockerHub as:

Note that as this is a ‘release candidate’, no alias has been created this time.

To clarify the nomenclature of the image aliases:

  • stable-3_5_0: will be created when we have the first release that is not a RC (i.e. 3_3_0-1).
  • latest: will refer to the latest stable release (right now it remains stable-3_4_0).
  • lts: for when the release is formally assigned as LTS by PKP.

Considering whether to keep aliases for lts-3.3 and lts-3.5.
If anyone has a strong opinion on the subject, please open a thread in the forum and mention @marc.
