User can't have have access to the stage of the workflow

Hi!
when a User try to go to review workflow, get this error:

You don’t currently have access to that stage of the workflow. [http://mysite.it/ojs/index.php/ijfs/$$$call$$$/grid/queries/queries-grid/fetch-grid?submissionId=808&stageId=3&_=1498041740230]

and he can’t do anything.

Some helps?

I use Ojs 3.0.2.0

Many thanks!

@asmecher Hi. I have upgraded ojs 3.1.1.4 to 3.1.2.4 with no error. But when a User as an author try to go to review stage to see the comments provided by reviewers, get this error:

You don’t currently have access to that stage of the workflow.

author gets an email to review the comments sent by Editor including a link to the workflow for example something like this: https://journals.website/index.php/JWSS/workflow/access/320

The author role has access to the all workflow stages in the system by Admin.

Do you have any idea?

Thank you so much indeed.
Best Regards, Mina

Hi @miki_farman,

Is this a link that was emailed from the new version of OJS, or a link that was emailed prior to the upgrade?

Hi @asmecher

I am not Editor of the journal and have no idea how the author got this link. But anyway after upgrade, author has been asked to review the comments through this email.

Dear xxx.
I have a review for you on your submission “xxxxxx”.
Link: https://journals.uis.no/index.php/JCSW/workflow/access/320
Please see the comments for review. Hope you can answer within two weeks.

it seems that when author click on the link it gets “You don’t currently have access to that stage of the workflow.”
I checked all the roles and permissions but found out nothing.

Best,
Mina

Hi @miki_farman,

I suspect the user received that message before the upgrade, and the URL has changed in subsequent releases of OJS. I’d suggest asking the author to try instead:

Hi @asmecher, It seems you are right :+1:. some links and notifications had been sent before the upgrade process. I didnt get any request or issue from other users anymore. Thank you so much! Best, Mina
