Update ojs 3.2.0.3

Please, I need help updating my version of OJS.

I’ve read some guides, but I’m not very experienced.

I have version 3.2.0.3. Is it really necessary to migrate to a newer version?

Could someone help me?

Hi @ser,

Yes, OJS 3.2 is an older version of OJS - it is highly recommended to upgrade. You mentioned that that you read some guides - maybe this one: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/dev/upgrade-guide/en/?

If you are still experiencing issues related to the upgrade, please provide more specific information on exactly what aspect of the upgrade you are having difficulty with.

Hi @ser

IMO the easiest way to upgrade is using docker.

  • You don’t need to worry about the php versions and any other dependence.
  • It’s easy to “backup” your status and repeat the operation if something fails.
  • You will be sure work exactly the same locally and in your server.

You need some tech expertise but here you have an script that does the job for you:

Here you have a talk about what is docker and how to use it with OJS.
This part explains how to dockerize your existing installation so you can test the upgrade:
