Two suggested changes to Objects for Review

Two requests for changes to the Objects for Review plug-in:

  1. In the Edit Review Object Types, unchecking the Display option for a lot of metadata elements that we don’t use should hide them from the full display, not just the short display. Otherwise the listing looks incomplete, with lots of fields marked with dashes.
  2. It would be great to have a way to mark Objects for Review that have been assigned to a reviewer still viewable, so readers know the review is underway. Currently, unchecking the Available box hides it completely from the Objects for Review listing. Perhaps changing from the link to request the object to a note that “This object has been assigned for review” would work.

Thanks!

Hi @achristian,

Thanks for the suggestions. Currently our top priority is releasing OJS 3.0, after which we’ll be looking over some of the plugins that 2.x supports (like the Objects for Review plugin) to schedule out some plans for rewriting those to support the new version. I’ve filed the Objects for Review plugin for consideration here, along with your suggestions: Consider "Objects for Review" plugin for forward porting · Issue #1718 · pkp/pkp-lib · GitHub
