Triple-Anonymous Peer Review

Hi everyone,

I know there was some discussion in the past about triple-anonymous peer review (Can the OJS interface be used to set up triple-blind review? - Feature Requests - PKP Community Forum), but I’m wondering if in the five years since then people have recent experience of it? Has anyone been able to use OJS to facilitate it?

We have some journals really interested in the model.

Hi @rebeccauoe,

There is an open issue of it here: Editor Anonymity (Triply Anonymous Refereeing) · Issue #6297 · pkp/pkp-lib · GitHub

But, so far as I can tell, it has not been designated for release and thus not prioritized for development at this point in time. It is flagged as a major enhancement, so would likely require some significant work to make it happen. If you’re interested in it, I would recommend indicating so on the Github issue, as others have done - that’s no guarantee that our developers will be able to work on it (they have to balance time and resources with a variety of different competing priorities), but at least it shows interest in the specific issue. You can also use the voting mechanism to upvote it on this Feature Request post: Can the OJS interface be used to set up triple-blind review? - #6 by duspal

Hi Roger - thanks so much for this! I’ve upvoted and comments on the two posts you linked to. I’ll keep an eye out for any long-term developments. I assume such a feature will be announced!
