Tibetan language support

Good day! I am working with a journal that accepts manuscripts in Tibetan. Is anyone working on support for Tibetan as a locale, or is this available already, and I missed it?

The editors of this journal may be interested in contributing this translation if it isn’t already in existence. What are the steps that we should take if they would like to contribute to the project in this way?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi @ej2432,

Thanks for your interest in PKP’s translation efforts! From what I can see, there is not yet any strides made for a Tibetan translation (translation efforts can be viewed here: Open Journal Systems @ Weblate )

A cursory search that I did doesn’t seem to indicate that there is anybody presently out there working on one, but tagging @EmmaU here in case she is aware of anything I’m not.

If your editor is wanting to get started on a Tibetan translation, I’m sure that would be a welcome addition. An overview of our translation efforts and resources can be found here: https://pkp.sfu.ca/community/get-involved/translation/

I highly recommend looking at the PKP Translation Guide prior to getting started with a translation.

Best regards,

Roger

Hi, @rcgillis. Thanks for your prompt and detailed reply. I have passed this information along to our journal and will support them if they decide to do this work.

For others who may come across this thread in the future, you can email our team at publishing [at] library.columbia.edu if you’d like to check in about this work, assuming an initial message here does not receive a reply.
