"The PKP PN is not currently accepting deposits" – Request to whitelist our journal

Hello PKP team and community,

I am trying to set up the PKP PN plugin (pre-release v4.0.0-pre) on our OJS 3.5 installation. The plugin appears to be correctly installed and the scheduled task is running, but the network status remains “The PKP PLN does not know about this journal yet”. When I check the task log, I see the following message:

text

[2026-05-26 06:59:16] [Notice] The PKP PN is not currently accepting deposits.

Journal information:

Environment:

  • OJS version: 3.5.0.4

  • PKP PN plugin version: v4.0.0-pre (from GitHub)

  • PHP version: 8.2

  • Server: Linux, with cron running php lib/pkp/tools/scheduler.php run every minute

What I have already done:

  • Verified that both online and print ISSN are correctly entered in the journal settings.

  • Agreed to all terms of use in the plugin settings.

  • The scheduled task is registered and runs without fatal errors (I see the log above).

  • The Depositor task is listed in scheduler.php list and runs every minute for testing.

  • No PHP errors appear in the log; the plugin seems to communicate with the PKP PN server, but the server replies that it is not accepting deposits.

I understand that the pre-release version may still have some issues, but from reading the forum I suspect that the journal needs to be manually whitelisted on the PKP PN side. Could someone please add our journal to the list of accepted journals?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,

John

@jun I confirm that I am experiencing the same issue and receiving the same messages. I am waiting for verification on the PKP side.

Hi @jun,

You’ve got a Cloudflare firewall in front of your site, it’s needed to whitelist the PKP PN server on the configuration.

If possible, I’d advise the allow requests from anything inside the “sfu.ca” domain, if not, this is the origin that should be allowed “pkp-pn.lib.sfu.ca”.

Once you get it fixed, things should work automatically, I’ll close the topic.

Best,
Jonas Raoni
