Suggestion for keeping on top of new and updated plugins in the Plugin Gallery? (OJS 3.5)

I’d like to know if PKP or any other users have suggestions for keeping apprised of a) new plugins added to the Plugin Gallery, and b) updates to plugins?

I note that there was a Plugin Update Notification plugin which did part of that (updates about plugins), but that still required regularly logging in to OJS to check - as the manager of a publishing program but not of any journal, that’s not part of my regular workflow. And that didn’t tell me when there were new items in the Gallery.

Is it possible to get updates via plugin-gallery in GitHub, for example? If so, what would be the best way of setting that up?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @tmrozewski,

Good question! Not a super elegant solution, but you can watch and get updates from the Github repository:

Any changes to the plugin gallery feed in from that plugins.xml file.
I don’t personally do any watches on Github repos in this manner, so I haven’t used this personally, but other folks do. Feel free to report back on how well this works/doesn’t for you if you give it a try.

Thanks @rcgillis , I’ll give that a shot. I’d like to leave the thread open for a spell in case anyone would like to contribute.
