I found that OJS 3.0.1 has small bug, which is not critical but sometimes disturbing. In metadata window the entered data from fields ‘keywords’, ‘languages’ and ‘references’ disappear after pushing the button ‘save’. This is only about indicated fields and only appear in case of next scenario. If you changing/adding contributors in metadata window in submissions and only if you received some error or warning message because, for example, absent e-mail in ‘e-mail’ field or if forgot to indicate the role of contributor. Even if you later added an e-mail and succesfully saved the contributor, nevertheles later, when you input data in ‘keywords’, ‘languages’ and ‘references’, they disappear without any warning notification after pushing the ‘save’. Solution after such error notification is to push ‘save’ without entered data in fields ‘keywords’, ‘languages’ and ‘references’. After such saving you can enter any data in these fields and they will not disappear.
This scenario and resulted bug were reproduced more than 10 times, so it seems to be stabile problem.
So be care when input the data and recheck it twice.
Hope it will be useful.
Hi @novikoffav,
Thanks for the report – I’m having a little trouble following the exact steps to reproduce. Could you write them step-by-step? Maybe screenshots would help, if that’s not too much trouble.

Hi @asmecher,
It is fun, but I tried to reproduce the trouble today and could not.
But it occured so much times last days, so I suggested to write a report. Probably this problem was related to cache issues, using Cyrillic or special symbols or something like this. I do not know. I will try to catch it, and if so I will write in details.
Steps of the problem causing were next. Tasks > A new article has been… > Metadata > Add Contributor > Forgotten e-mail and/or not assigned Contributor’s role > Error Message> Add e-mail and/or assign Contributor’s role > Author added > Enter data in field Languages > Enter data in field Keywords > Enter data in field References > Push Save > Saved Successfully > Data in fields Languages, Keywords and References absent.
Sorry for bothering.
Hi @novikoffav,
Not a problem – let me know if you’re able to track it down and I’ll see if I can help fix it!

Hi @asmecher,
I experienced the same bug once during the last two days, but it was realized in other scenario, and it appeared without any backgrounds for this. So, it is not realted to error messages during the modification of metadata. And I can’t say what is the reason of the problem. Most probably it occurs occasionaly. I will try to monitor the situation more.
Thanks again!
