Round 2 starting automatically instead of Round 1

Hello!

One of our journals is having a strange behavior where Round 2 is the first round that starts, right after the paper is sent to evaluation, instead of Round 1.

Round 2 starts automatically while Round 1 never really happened. There’s no data on Round 1.

This is not happening to all of our journals, only one specifically.

We are using OJS 3.1.2.1.

Does anybody ever had a similar issue?

Hi @alexxxmendonca,

Check the review_rounds table to see if there is an entry for those articles already before the second round begins.

Hi, @asmecher

We had a look and there is indeed an entry in those cases (I’m sending over a printscreen of what it looks like, if it’s of any help! image|690x370 ), is there something we can do to fix this issue?

Hi @Carolina_Tanigushi,

What do you see when you go to the Review tab, before you record the “send to review” decision?

@asmecher I see Review Round 1 just fine; oddly enough, we hadn’t thought of looking there. Okay, so, at least for the time being, we’re not supposed to use the “Send to Review” button, and should instead go to the Review tab and add reviewers from there, because, if we do use the “Send to review” button, it’ll “skip” Round 1 and move on straight to 2.

Hi @Carolina_Tanigushi,

These submissions had already been sent to review; sending them again will start a second round.

Thanks,
