Reviewers are unable to submit their review

Hi everyone
I kindly need your help.
We are using OJS 3.3.0.2. Reviewers have reported that they are unable to submit their reports by typing/ entering (or pasting) their review into the form. When they click submit review the system keeps rolling. They cannot go to the next step to complete their review. This problem happens especially when a review contains has many content or many special characters or when it includes references. We also had the similar problem when authors were required to include references as part of meta data until we disabled submission of reference. Our IT specialist has checked the server and says everything in the server is ok. How can we resolve this.

  • by this do you mean that you see a spinning wheel or something not loading? If so, this usually indicates that you need to check your PHP error logs for relevant error log messages there? Could you have your IT specialist do that and report on any errors?

I think spinning wheel might be a correct description. It keeps rotating as if it is loading but it stays like that. We’ll try your suggestion and give feedback

We have checked the path where logs are found but there is no PHP error. Is there anywhere else we can see the specific PHP error logs?

Hi @Parestico_Pastory,

Sorry, usually the PHP error logs show when there is an error for problems such as this. I’m not sure what more to suggest at this point, but others may wish to weigh in.
