References showing up at article view details page

Hello,

Most of our authors send in their references as metadata in article submission step 3. If so, the references appear automatically at the article view details page. I do not want them to appear there. The only details which need to be visible there are: title, author, abstract, keywords and Full text. But not the references.
An option is to delete all the references using “Edit metadata”, but isn’t there an easier way to solve this problem. And, can you explain me the reason for asking the authors to send their references as metadata. I do not get why it is of any use.

Regards,

Jurry

Hi @AI_JE,

Publishing the references outside the galley (PDF, HTML) is a pretty common practice in online publications. If you’d like to remove them, however, the easiest thing to do is probably to edit the templates/article/article.tpl template and remove the citations there, or hide the #articleCitations div via CSS.
