We are using OMP 3.5 with two enabled locales:
- English (primary locale)
- Portuguese
Our monographs may be published either in Portuguese or English.
We’ve noticed that the DOI settings page displays different landing page URLs depending on the language of the editor’s interface. For the same published monograph, the URL shown is:

Editor interface in English:
https://.../index.php/test/en/catalog/book/1/ -
Editor interface in Portuguese:
https://.../index.php/test/pt/catalog/book/1/
Both URLs resolve to the same monograph; only the interface locale changes.
Since we deposit DOIs manually with Crossref, we would like to know what is the recommended practice.
Should the DOI landing page:
- always use the primary locale (EN), or
- use the locale corresponding to the publication language (PT for Portuguese monographs, EN for English monographs)?
Is there an official recommendation from PKP regarding which URL should be deposited with Crossref in multilingual OMP installations?
