Reading Tools in 3.0.1

Hi,

Does Reading Tools exist in ojs 3.0.1? Attached image is from 2.4.6 which I cannot find its equivalent in 3.0.1.

Hi @salehig,

OJS 3.x currently offers a very limited subset of the reading tools that were included with OJS 2.x. We’re unlikely to add them all again, in particular the databases of search tools. Is there anything in particular that you’d like to include in OJS 3.x?

“Indexing metadata” and emailing the author or article were handy tools for our journals.

Hi @salehig,

Have you experimented with Zotero? Zotero support will be re-added to OJS shortly via the COinS plugin. Extracting metadata is primarily available through the citation format plugins. Those two ought to cover the “Indexing Metadata” feature from OJS 2.x.

As for contacting the author, at the moment we’re hoping to facilitate the use of ORCID to this end. Authors who enter their ORCID identifiers will see links show up on the published article page, and can use ORCID to expose or hide contact information (along with a comprehensive listing of their other publications).
