pt_BR and a few others transation missing quite a few translations

Is the pt_BR translation incomplete? Or did it had some problem upgrading from 2.4.8.3? The keys missing seems to be quite common to be missing…

Hi @luizborges,

Unfortunately the OJS 3.x (currently 3.1.2) Brazilian Portuguese translation is out of date; we depend on the community for translations and our release schedule isn’t always convenient. Fortunately we’re about to launch a Weblate-based translation portal to make it easier to maintain translations, and will be entering a prolonged period for translation updates for the OJS 3.2 release. Watch the PKP blog for details.

Thanks, I would like to help with the translations. Do you think it could be done now on github? Or is it better to wait for the translation portal?

When 3.2 is expected to arrive?

Hi @luizborges,

You’re welcome to work with the translations in github directly. The best course would be to work with the .po files in the master branch – these are “monolingual” Gettext PO files. Watch for an announcement about the Weblate environment, but even after that is launched, we should be able to receive contributions from other sources (e.g. directly through Github).

We plan to start the translation freeze in November and release OJS 3.2 in January.
