Possible to start download counter at a number of my choosing?

PKP friends, our journal was migrated over to OJS from another publisher where some of the articles already had hundreds of downloads. Is it possible to start the download counter on an article published on the OJS platform at a number of my choosing, so that the overall download stats for the author accurately reflect the success of the publication?

Does this question make sense? In short, just as I can tell Microsoft Word to start numbering my pages from a custom number, I would like a way to tell OJS to start counting downloads from a custom number. There must be a way to fiddle with this?

You can of course do the changes to the database. Just change the values in the metrics table.

Could you please tell me where I locate the metrics table? Would this be under Settings or Tools? I am in the dashboard of my journal but I do not see how to begin to do as you suggest.

Unfortunately, you can not edit it from the OJS user interface. You would need a database UI client like phpmyadmin. Usually that is available from the service provider.
