I want to resurrect a topic that I asked in the old forum as I didn’t get any responses. I don’t think an author should be asked for the position of his/her book in the series. No author will have that information as they will not know what is already in production. It is definitely great to have that information in the metadata but I think only editors should be able to see and input into that field.
Thanks,
Judy
Hi @jpowell,
What version of OMP are you using? By this entry, it should be suppressed from the submission process starting with OMP 1.1.0:
http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8543
If you’re running 1.1.0 and later and still see the “position in series” field appearing during submissaion, let me know – that sounds like a bug.

My apologies Alec, I wasn’t aware that this had been fixed as no one had responded to my query where I could have cc’d myself on any bug fix. I just did a quick test as an author and sure enough I wasn’t asked to supply a position within a series. So thanks very much!
Judy
Hi @jpowell,
No worries, glad to hear that it’s working OK!
