Hello,
We are running OJS 3.5.0.3.
The PKP PN plugin was manually installed from the official PKP PLN repository and is visible in the Plugins list.
The plugin is enabled.
All Terms of Use have been accepted and saved successfully.
A Journal Identifier has been generated.
However, the Status page shows:
“The PKP PLN does not know about this journal yet.”
The Deposits section remains empty.
The PHP error log shows:
PHP Fatal error:
Uncaught ArgumentCountError:
Too few arguments to function APP\plugins\generic\pln\classes\tasks\Depositor::__construct(),
0 passed in plugins/generic/pln/PlnPlugin.php on line 280
and exactly 1 expected in plugins/generic/pln/classes/tasks/Depositor.php:39
The installed plugin version.xml contains:
3.0.0.0
with the note:
“The range 3.x.x.x is reserved for OJS 3.4”
Could you please confirm whether this PLN version is compatible with OJS 3.5.0.3 and advise how to resolve the issue?

Thank you.
Hi @saad ,
Can you confirm: Is this the version you’re working from: Release PKP|PN 4.0.0-0 - OJS 3.5 (Pre-release) · pkp/pln · GitHub ?
If so, this is the only version that has deemed somewhat compatible with 3.5, but it is still being tested and is not guaranteed to work (and is labelled as such).

Hi Roger,
Thank you for your response.
No, the installed version is not PLN 4.0.0.0.
Our hosting provider manually installed the plugin, and the version.xml file currently shows:
3.0.0.0
with the note:
“The range 3.x.x.x is reserved for OJS 3.4”
Our journal is running OJS 3.5.0.3.
We are also seeing the following PHP error:
Too few arguments to function
APP\plugins\generic\pln\classes\tasks\Depositor::__construct(),
0 passed and exactly 1 expected.
Would you recommend upgrading from PLN 3.0.0.0 to PLN 4.0.0.0 for OJS 3.5.0.3?
Thank you for your guidance.
Best regards,

Hi @saad ,
Okay, thanks for clarifying. Version 3.0.0.0 will not work if you’re running 3.5. You will need to use the newer plugin if you’re using 3.5 (4.0.0.0) and as is noted in the release, the plugin is still considered experimental - it may work, but it may not.
Regardless, older versions of the plugin are not likely to work if you’re running 3.5. As for the PHP errors - @jonasraoni may be able to speak to these.

Hi Roger,
Thank you for your clarification.
That explains the issue.
Our hosting provider installed PLN version 3.0.0.0, which is indeed intended for OJS 3.4, while our journal is running OJS 3.5.0.3.
We will replace the current plugin with PLN 4.0.0.0 and test it further.
Thank you for your assistance and for confirming the compatibility requirements.
Best regards,
Saad Alarnoot
