PKP-Crossref webinar recordings available: OJS 3.5 features, user enhancements, and how to upgrade

PKP and Crossref join forces once again, this time to bring you resources for upgrading to OJS 3.5.

Please note: when we talk about OJS upgrading in general, we are also talking about OMP and OPS upgrading because they share a common codebase.

Why upgrade

Why should you upgrade? Thousands of Crossref Members use OJS to register their metadata. OJS upgrading is a key part of how journals maintain interoperability (check this blog post for interoperability tips) with the broader scholarly communications ecosystem, including supporting better metadata and improving global reach and discoverability, as well as meeting growing expectations around usability, institutional reporting, quality, and trust.

Further, OJS / OMP / OPS 3.5 will be designated as a Long-Term Support (LTS) release this Summer. The last LTS release, 3.3, will stop being supported 1 year after 3.5 LTS is released. Using unsupported versions means security risks! If you would like to know more about releases, including whether to chose LTS or Short-Term Support (STS), check out the new PKP Software Releases explainer (applies to OJS / OMP / OPS releases).

PKP and Crossref present: upgrading webinar events and recordings

We will continue to announce webinar event invites and recordings in the Forum. We also update a "PKP and Crossref Present" news blog post for your reference or sharing. The page includes past events and recordings, as well as future events. The page continues to be updated as details are confirmed.

If you want to go straight to PKP’s YouTube channel for the recordings, slides, transcripts, linked chapters, and associated resources, here’s where to go.
