OPS DOI Updates to Crossref

,

Hello,

uOttawa Library is providing technical support for SportRxiv. We would llike to inquire about the DOI registration/update process with some metadata elements.

  1. Currently the Crossref plugin in OPS does not extract the abstract as part of the metadata within the XML file. Is there a way or an upgrade to include/extract the asbtract (as jats.abstract element) as part of the XML file?

  2. When a preprint gets published in a journal article, it is best practices that authors update that information by prodiving the DOI of the published article in the relations feature at the production level in OPS. As per Crossref, it is required that publishers submit the DOI of the published article for the matched preprint to Crossref. I’m wondering what the process is in OPS. Does the Crossref Export plugin automatically provides the matched DOI (with the relations elements in the XML file)? Or do we need to submit matched DOIs manually to Crossref?

    Thank you,

Hi @uOttawa_Library,

Which version of OPS are you running?

This should be addressed as of version 3.4: OPS include abstract in Crossref DOI registration · Issue #7302 · pkp/pkp-lib · GitHub

As for your second question - I’m not sure - hopefully another community member that has more direct experience with OPS and that scenario can speak to it.
